Harbourfest brings Sydney’s sparkling harbour to life on Australia Day with exhilarating activities on the sea, shore, and sky.

The excitement builds throughout the morning as thousands of Sydneysiders and visitors gather along the foreshore to take in the stunning views of our beautiful harbour.

The annual Oz Day 10K wheelchair race spins through The Rocks, while the Overseas Passenger Terminal offers plenty of fun and free activities for the young at heart, including a Mega Kidz Zone, a DJ, street food, and more.

Midday is marked by a stirring 21-gun salute, followed by a breathtaking Fast Jet aerial display.

A crowd favourite, the Ferrython, will again see our iconic ferry fleet racing at double speed for line honours, while Maritime Mayhem entertains with stunts and tricks.

The Australia Day Regatta, the Tall Ships Race, the Australia Day Harbour Parade, and the Working Harbour Display showcase our rich maritime traditions, all unfolding across the harbour.

Harbourfest offers fun, free activities for all ages, celebrating the Australian spirit and bringing people together to share in the story of our nation.

Spectators can secure spots around Circular Quay, Hickson Road Reserve, Dawes Point Reserve, and the Sydney Opera House, as well as the Cahill Expressway Walkway and the Sydney Harbour Bridge, to view all the action.

For those on the water, the best on-water vantage points and waterway restrictions ensure safe and enjoyable viewing of the day’s events.

The Australia Day Council of NSW work to ensure all activities and events are accessible and inclusive, allowing everyone to experience the magic of the day. Find out more.
