An all-inclusive family day out experiencing cultural elements at the Griffith Regional Aquatic and Leisure Centre with crafts, free food & local entertainment.

This event is for ALL members of the community.

Griffith’s biggest family day event will be held on 26 January 2023 (Australia Day) at the Griffith Regional Aquatic Leisure Centre.

Join Griffith City Council and Griffith Local Aboriginal Land Council for this all-inclusive family event being held to show respect for our First Nations Wiradjuri People.

Our national day is a time for inclusion and recognition. It’s a time to reflect, to listen, learn and gain a better understanding of Australia’s First Peoples as the nation continues to work towards unity. It is through storytelling that we continue tostay connected. All our stories count and should be shared.

The community is invited to enjoy free entry into the pool and a host of cultural activities including Didgeridoo playing, indigenous dancers, a smoking ceremony and art. Anyone can participate in the day’s activities. A free BBQ lunch will be available.

Free buses will be available for pick-ups and drop-offs (on rotation every hour) from 12 noon-5pm. Commencing from Dave Taylor Park, Kubank Park (Parkinson Crescent) and Yawarra Park (Three Ways).
