Mid-Western Regional Council's Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony will be presented at a small ceremony in Robertson Park, Mudgee on Tuesday, 26 January from 9:00 AM.
The region’s Australia Day Ambassador, Andrew Lock will be presenting on the day.
Andrew is the most accomplished high altitude mountaineer in Australian history as the first person in the British Commonwealth, and just the 18th man in the world, to climb all 14 of the world’s 8000 metre mountains.
The Australia Day Awards include seven categories that recognise those who have made a difference in our community and deserve recognition for their achievements and contributions.
Categories include:
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Community Event of the Year
- Glen Johnston Memorial Award - Arts and Music
- Sports Award
- Volunteer Services Award
- Wall of Reflections
