Australia Day in Sydney 2024 Competition Privacy Statement
By submitting an entry, you are allowing the Department of Premier and Cabinet (including where operating as the Australia Day Council of NSW) (“DPC”) to collect the following personal information from you:
- First name
- Surname
- Age
- Mobile number
- Postcode
DPC is collecting that information for the purposes of:
- conducting, promoting and advertising the Australia Day in Sydney 2024 competition; and
- promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant;
It is intended that DPC (or third parties authorised by DPC) may, for those purposes:
- communicate to the general public the winner’s first name, surname, State or Territory the winner is from and the 24 word entry online (including on www.australiaday.com.au and the Australia Day Facebook page operated by DPC); and
- disclose your personal information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities.
The provision of this personal information by you is not required by law. However, you will need to provide this information if you to participate in the competition.
DPC will handle and store your personal information in accordance with its Privacy Management Plan and the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998.
