Creative Director

Australian musician, composer and TV personality John Foreman OAM returns to the highly coveted role of Creative Director with the Australia Day Council of NSW.

With more than 20 years of arts and music experience, John will continue his role of creating a sensational and innovative event program for Australia Day in Sydney.

Biography

John has a prominent musical background, with accolades such as the famous ‘Flame’ song for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Opening Ceremony. He has also worked television and event production and achieved record-breaking success.

In 2015, John was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in the General Division (OAM) for service to the performing arts.

In 2019, John took over as director of the Aussie Pops Orchestra, and together with Arts Centre Melbourne, relaunched The Big Night In as an online format to provide entertainment during coronavirus lockdown in 2020.

John’s talent is a valuable addition to the Australia Day celebrations, certain to leave a lasting impression on new and favourite events.

Australia has the most beautiful arts and music culture.

I hope to bring the best of it to the audience through a series of unforgettable events for our favourite national holiday.
