As always, the ceremony features a 21-gun ‘Salute to Australia’ by the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Army and Royal Australian Air Force. However in 2021, the Salute is held at Government House instead of Sydney Harbour.
The Governor of NSW, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, delivers an Australia Day message.
As the broadcast concludes, sing along to our national anthem in English and Eora language.
The Salute to Australia has become a spectacular, ceremonial tradition of the Australia Day in Sydney program. In 2021, this event is supported by the National Australia Day Council, which is assisted by the Australian Government.

Australia Day 2021 is different due to COVID-19
For the first time, the Salute to Australia will take place as an intimate ceremony held at Government House Sydney (rather than Circular Quay). A small group of new citizens and frontline workers will be invited to attend the ceremony.
To help us all stay COVID Safe, this event is not open to the general public.
