Australia’s Human Nature has earned its place as one of the world’s finest pop-vocal groups of the modern era. It’s been announced that the group will join in the festivities at Australia Day 2017 – Live at Sydney Opera House, a concert celebrating Australia’s rich musical heritage and strong cultural diversity.
For 27 years, Human Nature has entertained music lovers across the globe, most recently in the US in their 8th year of sell-out shows in the entertainment mecca of Las Vegas at The Venetian.
The foursome, Toby Allen, Phil Burton and brothers Andrew and Michael Tierney, has sold more than 2.5 million albums, topping the charts four times in Australia with a number one album.
Performing on Australia Day is an opportunity the group couldn’t resist, said Toby Allen. “We’re such proud Australians and always shout out to our Aussie fans in our audience in the US most nights – it’s such an honour to join our fellow artists celebrating Australian culture with live music at such an iconic location in our home city.”
Andrew Tierney said Australia Day was “a powerful day to be reminded of our history, growth and gratitude towards this incredible country. It’s rich in spirit and it’s that spirit we refer to in our time away from Australia.”
Human Nature joins an all-star cast and will perform alongside Tina Arena, Guy Sebastian and Dami Im.
Curated by Australia Day creative director John Foreman, the concert features music and special performances that pay tribute to Australia.
John Foreman said, “Some of our most successful artists will help celebrate the rich cultural makeup of Australia. This concert is also a great way to celebrate the diversity and variety of musical talent this country has nurtured.”
"I've known the guys from Human Nature since we were all kids together, performing at Sydney's School Spectacular. I feel so proud of what they've achieved here and internationally and it'll be fantastic to have them home for this incredible day."
Human Nature is returning early to their home city of Sydney for Australia Day, before kicking off the national “The Ultimate Jukebox Tour” arena tour in February. The Las Vegas residency headliners are set to bring more Aussie star power to the festivities at Australia Day 2017 – Live at Sydney Opera House - a concert celebrating Australia’s rich musical heritage and strong cultural diversity.
The free event is brought to you by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.
Australia Day 2017 – Live at Sydney Opera House will air Thursday, 26 January at 7.30pm on TEN and WIN Network
