Pop sensation and multi-platinum artist Guy Sebastian will take centre stage in Sydney this Australia Day as the latest star to join the concert line-up Australia Day 2018 – Live at Sydney Opera House.
Seven hand-picked Australian performers will pay tribute to Australia with a selection of legendary smash hits, said Australia Day NSW Creative Director John Foreman.
“We’re very lucky to have Guy performing for the second year in a row,” said Mr Foreman.
“He is loved in Australia and across the globe and is a shining example of the incredible talent in this country.”
Guy Sebastian is the only Australian male artist to have ever achieved six number one singles, including ARIA winner ‘Angels Brought Me Here’, and two number one albums in chart history. His brand-new album ‘Conscious’ was released last month.
Sebastian is the fourth announced act to perform at the world-renowned Sydney Opera House this January, with Anthony Callea, Marcia Hines and Christine Anu.
“I loved doing this gig last year! I’m excited to be back there on Australia Day performing in front of such an iconic landmark, celebrating this country that has given us so much,” Mr Sebastian said.
Mr Foreman said the concert would boast an additional element this year, with the annual Australia Day fireworks moving to Circular Quay to provide an amazing backdrop for the Australia Day concert.
“It’s going to be a fantastic night, and Guy adds to an already star-studded line-up,” he said.
“We encourage everyone to register in the ticket ballot at www.australiaday.com.au for their chance to win tickets, or to tune in to the TV broadcast from home.”
Australia Day 2018 – Live at Sydney Opera House is sponsored by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency Destination NSW.
The concert is part of the Network Ten live broadcast of Australia Day 2018, hosted by Grant Denyer with special guest Sandra Sully.
