Yabun Festival, held upon the traditional lands of the Gadigal people, is an annual festival celebrating the resilience and history of the world’s oldest living culture.

Established in 2001, Yabun (meaning ‘music to a beat’ in Gadigal language), features traditional dance performances, children’s craft workshops, live music and a bustling marketplace featuring a variety of food and merchandise.
Yabun Festival welcomes everyone to join in the largest one day gathering celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
Free shuttle bus
The Australia Day Council of NSW is providing a free shuttle bus from Circular Quay to Yabun, return, from midday to 5pm.
Hosted by the Tribal Warrior and driven by a City of Sydney driver, the 20 seater community bus has wheelchair access. Tribal warrior will provide a cultural assistant (conductor) on the bus to welcome people on and off the bus.
Shuttle bus stops and timetable
- Yabun: Victoria Park (City Rd near Cleveland street)
- Pick up 12pm
- Pick up and drop off at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm
- Last drop off at 5pm
- Circular Quay: Macquarie Street near Sydney Opera House
- Pick up 12:30pm
- Drop off and pick up at 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm and 4:30pm

DOS AND DON'TS
DO NOT BYO. BYO alcohol and glass are not permitted at Yabun Festival.
Public transport
Plan ahead and leave the car at home. The best way to get around on Australia Day is by public transport using an Opal Card.
If travelling by train, please allow some extra travel time.
