Head to Darling Harbour for a playground of fun for all ages.
There’s plenty of action for the whole family with performances from some of Australia’s best children’s entertainers.
THE WIGGLES CONCERTS (11AM or 2:30PM)
Get wiggly this Australia Day as Australia’s biggest and brightest entertainment group, The Wiggles, perform their first shows of the year.
Arrive early to the Wiggles concerts and have fun with the stars of ABC KIDS – Lah-Lah’s Big Live Band.
The morning and afternoon concerts are ticketed events. Ticket information will be announced in January 2018.
TRUE BLUE BUSH GAMES (10AM TO 4PM)
Throw a thong, see how much watermelon you can chomp your way through or hurl, heave and hobble in the Wife* Carrying Competition.
* “Wife” includes husband, partner, de facto, significant other, lover, brother, sister, mother, father, daughter, son, friend, sister from another mister, brother from another mother, uncle, aunty, nephew, niece, that distant cousin you wanted to disown at Christmas, etc. You get the picture!
CIRCUS WORKS (10AM to 2:30PM)
Have you ever dreamed of joining the circus?
Join the fun and interactive circus playground for kids and adults.
Peddle your heart out on a unicycle, try your hand at juggling , test your balance on sky-high stilts, and keep things balanced and spinning.
LEARN TO HULA HOOP (1:30PM to 4:30PM)
Check out mind-boggling hoop tricks and learn to hula hoop with Heidi Hoops!
Spin the hoop around your waist or try more complicated moves around yours arms, legs and even your neck.
ROVING PERFORMERS (ALL DAY)
Try to catch the giant bouncing roos, musical maidens and colourful bugs on stilts around Darling Harbour.
AFTERNOON SUMMER SESSIONS (4PM to 8PM)
The fun continues into the evening with plenty of great restaurants and outdoor venues for mum and dad, live music and DJ’s to get you up and dancing and an exciting performance by high-energy cover band Furnace and the Fundamentals, concluding an action-packed day at Darling Harbour. THE FIREWORKS HAVE MOVED TO CIRCULAR QUAY
To allow even more people to enjoy the Australia Day fireworks, the fireworks have moved to Circular Quay. Check out Live at the Quay! for more information.
Dos and don'ts
DO NOT BYO. BYO alcohol and glass are not permitted in Bradfield Park in North Sydney, Darling Harbour, The Rocks, Sydney Opera House and Circular Quay, including the Overseas Passenger Terminal and Dawes Point.
If travelling by train, please allow some extra travel time.
