Start your Australia Day morning in the beautiful surrounds of Tumut's Alex Stockwell Gardens.

From 8am the Rotary Club of Tumut will serve its traditional Australia Day BBQ, accompanied by the Coffee Pedaler coffee van, offering delicious coffee and refreshments. Meanwhile, residents, visitors and special guests can enjoy performances from Sing Australia and the Tumut Town Band.

The official proceedings begin at 9am and include a Welcome to Country from local Wiradjuri Elder Susan Bulger, Australia Day Address by our Australia Day Ambassador, and Citizenship Ceremony to welcome our new citizens to the region.

Our region has been greatly impacted by the ongoing bushfires and some of our communities are beginning the long road to recovery. We have a long way to go, but we are a strong and determined group of people.

On Australia Day we will reflect on and recognise those who have been impacted by the fires, including those who’ve lost homes and been displaced, as well as the countless personnel and volunteers who’ve fought to keep the fires from taking so much more.

All people from all walks of life are invited to come along to celebrate our communities and their achievements, and to welcome our new Australian citizens. We hope to see you there!
