The Georges River Council Australia Day Festival is widely regarded as one of the best Australia Day events in Sydney and has been a tradition for many local families and visitors to the area for over 25 years.

The day will start at 10am with a traditional Aboriginal performance from our Digeridoo Master and includes a Smoking Ceremony.

The Australia Day awards will be announced, including the Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Volunteer of the Year. Following the awards, we will welcome our new citizens at the citizenship ceremony.

The rest of the day includes a spectacular entertainment line-up, featuring a showcase of great live music, diverse cultural performances and community entertainers. There will be a special visit from Peter Rabbit and Justice Crew will be the headline act for the evening.

Market and food stalls, along with rides and activities will create a wonderful festive atmosphere on the day, which will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display over Kogarah Bay at 9pm.

This event is brought to you by Georges River Council.
