9.30am – 11.30am, Queen Elizabeth Park

The Australia Day Citizenship ceremony will start at 10.00am. Mayor Ray Thompson will present the NSW Local Citizenship Awards and welcome our newest Australian citizens to Lithgow. Our Australia Day Ambassador will give the official Australia Day speech.

Have a sausage sizzle courtesy of the Lions Club, then enjoy entertainment from the Lithgow City Band and Lithgow Highland Pipe Band.

8.00am – 4.00pm, JM Robson Aquatic Centre

Take part in a waterslide sea scramble.


10.00am – 3.00pm, Wolgan Street

Wolgan Street will come alive with entertainment and activities for the whole family, including live music and performances by Lithgow City Band, Lithgow Highland Pipe Band, Ruth Lockley and the Lithgow Line Dancers.

Celebrate the Portland community with the official ceremony and awards at 12.00 noon, with a special address by our Australia Day Ambassador.


From 10.30am, Wallerawang Community & Sports Club

Wallerawang will host a festival of fun for all the family, with music, mural painting, a giant slide, children’s activities, wood chopping, a BBQ, performances and more.

The official ceremony to recognise the Wallerawang community commences at 1.30pm, with an address by the Australia Day Ambassador.


3.00pm – 6.00pm, Greg Featherstone Park and Pioneer Park

Celebrate Australia Day at Rydal with traditional Australian activities and games for the whole family – such as billy cart races, tug of war, thong tossing and yabby races.

The ceremony to celebrate the Rydal community starts at 5.00pm.
