Glen Innes is a community doing it tough. Over the past year it has battled the worst drought in living memory and faced catastrophic bushfires. In these trying times, Kylie Falconer, CEO of the Glen Innes Natural Resources Advisory Committee (GLENRAC) has stepped up to help her community.
As the backbone of the organisation, Kylie helped landowners submit drought and fire forms, hosted drought suppers for landowners, and partnered with local Lions Clubs, Lioness Clubs and the Country Women’s Association to provide much-needed relief. This included helping distribute gift vouchers for grazing equipment, arranging pallets of food and drinking water, and acting as a hub for donated items to be distributed to landholders in need.
Alongside her drought relief efforts, Kylie’s exceptional talent for organisation and creative thinking shines through in the wide range of opportunities provided by GLENRAC. These include field days, information events, and community celebrations that are tailored to fit the needs of the people in her region.
