Age is no barrier when it comes to saving the environment.
In 2018, 10-year-old Chase Cross was studying a school unit called ‘The planet is there to share’. Inspired by what he learnt, Chase began recycling cans and bottles with the goal of collecting 1500 in a year.
Diligently, Chase collected cans and bottles from home as well as local restaurants, social events and sporting games. He even brought cans back home from family holidays. At the end of 2019, he ended up beating his target and recycling a total of 2061 cans and bottles at his local Return and Earn collection point.
The money he received was then donated to the Love Mercy Foundation, with founder Eloise Wellings personally receiving it and sharing the story on social media.
