Bruce Whan is passionate about keeping the Dumaresq Creeklands as pristine as possible. Over the past 40 years he’s helped plant more than 75,000 native plants and removed over 5500 tonnes of woody weeds to make it happen.
As the founder of Armidale Urban Rivercare Group (AURG), Bruce has gathered a diverse range of supporters to lend a hand including the local council, schools and universities. He has also applied for and administered numerous grants to help restore the area.
The results speak for themselves. The creeklands' landscape is now an area of beauty, biodiversity and life, enjoyed by many people who walk, ride and live along its length.
