New Technologies – Same values:Digital technology and social media are forever changing the way Australians celebrate Australia Day. As this happens, the Australia Day Council of NSW is changing with it. In recent years we have built a loyal, strong and highly-engaged online community across multiple social media platforms. Sponsors have the opportunity to tap into these platforms throughout the year, either as stand-alone activities or as part of a wider event calendar. With successful implementation across social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and mobile applications, we are constantly expanding our capacity to help share our sponsor’s brand messages more widely with more varied and engaged audiences. Annually, the Australia Day Council of NSW websites attract more than 345,000 unique visitors, and over 2.8 million page views and for Australia Day 2012, over 240,000 Australians were fans of Australia Day on Facebook. Australia Day 2013 was a resounding success and our Corporate Network once again came together to help us celebrate our national day and to keep the Australia Day values alive throughout the year.
