2009 Corporate Golf Day

Superb conditions greeted players at the 2009 Corporate Golf Day held at NSW Golf Club.

This was not a day for the faint hearted as the course lived up to its reputation as being not only spectacular but also extremely challenging. We wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

A field of 84 representatives from our corporate family and their guests arrived at La Perouse to take on the course in a Four Ball Ambrose Event.

With the Australia Open being played at NSW Golf Club later this year, the course was the toughest it has been for years. Players straying from the fairways had to contend with deep rough, unforgiving bunkers and dense native bushes.

For those who made it safely to the lightning fast greens, touch and finesse were essential to get the ball in the hole.

Defending champs, Australia Post were unfortunately unable to field a team on the day, so the competition was wide open with a number of teams contending for the title.

Once again ADCNSW provided players with some big hitting back up on one of the most intimidating holes on the course – the 15th. Players watched in awe as NSWGC Professional Adrian Hoyle smashed drivers over the hill, setting their team up for a birdie opportunity.

Following the round, teams gathered for a relaxing buffet lunch in the Clubhouse to catch up with old and new friends.

The team from Capital Finance Australia Limited were the overall winners on the day, and the title could not have gone to a more worthy team. Capital Finance have been hot contenders for a while now being runners up in 2008, third in 2007 and runners up again in 2006.
