Get your family and friends on board to celebrate our nation’s day at the best party on Sydney Harbour, Australia Day Harbour Parade.
No matter what size your boat is, everyone is invited to join in the Australia Day Harbour Parade to celebrate with some of Sydney’s most iconic vessels in parading around the harbour in a dazzling display of patriotism and colour. Show your proudest national spirit and dress your decks with colour and flags.
If you’re planning to participate, registering online before midday 21 January 2016 will put you in the running to win a share of $2,000 cash prizes for the Best Dressed Vessels. 1st 2nd and 3rd place winners are announced at the end of the parade route in Athol Bay.
*Late entries will be accepted in person until the end of the Captains Briefing.
This year we will have two marshalling areas:
Jeffery Street Wharf for vessels 20metres and under
and Lavender Bay for any arrivals after 11.45am when the exclusion zone is in place
Marshalling commences at 11.40am (using VHF 15 as the marshalling channel), and the parade will depart at 12.45pm to make a loop of the harbour, and finishing at Athol Bay at 2.15pm for the award winners announcement.
The new marshalling area at Jeffrey St Wharf allows you and your guests to experience the full Salute to Australia with view of the HMAS Adelaide, Smoking Ceremonies, School Choirs around the harbour, Salute to Australia including 21 Gun Salute and the Tug and Yacht ballet prior to the Harbour Parade. Due to space only a limited number of vessels will be able to marshal in this area.
** Please note due to the proximity to the canons and exclusion zone we request that any vessels intending to marshal in the Jeffrey St Wharf area attend the briefing.
